Project Objectives:-
To bring about decline in maternal and infant mortality rate. Programme was conducted by the support of CARE- India from 2003 to 2005 I all the 13 development blocks of Fatehpur district to reduce the maternal and infant mortality rate. The programme envisaged co-ordination amongst various departments active at the village level with Panchayat for capacity building of service providers, and activating Panchayat’s committee.

Project Objectives:-
To bring about decline in maternal and infant mortality rate.
Outcomes:-
Coverage of immunisation for bringing down maternal and infant mortality rate in the coverage area has gone up. The prospective mothers are taking balanced diet. Not only trained birth attendants are attending to deliveries, but also safe deliveries, institutional deliveries and deliveries at sub-centre are increasing. Infants are immediately being given mother’s milk. Infants are being weighted. They are not being bathed to prevent them from hypothermia. Instead they are being wiped with clean cotton cloth and covered with cotton cloth. Infants are now wearing clothes.
Women and adolescent girls have become aware about maternal and child health. The community has also become aware of women and men, and adolescent boys and girls programmes.
10. Iodine deficiency disorder

Project Objectives:-
In seven development blocks of Hamirpur district increase in the use of iodine and awareness generation regarding ill effects of iodine deficiency in the body.
Results:-
Probability of the use of iodised salt by the community has increased to prevent iodine deficiency disorders. The community has come to realise that by using iodised salt, one can save himself, or herself from ill effects of iodine deficiency.
With the cooperation of all the departments, this programme has made the community aware of the usage of iodised salt so that the children are not healthy without any physical or mental disability, adolescent girls are not infertile and adults are not suffering from disease like goitre.
Shopkeepers have also been motivated to sell iodised salt as a result of which not only in the city, but also amongst the community, level of usage of iodised salt has increased.
11. Innovative Health Enhancement Project

To bring about requisite decline in the maternal and infant mortality rate in the localities in the Ganga flood area, where no government or non-governmental institution is working and which is illiterate, poor and resourceless.
